Kieran McInerney, Chair of Digbeth CIC

“A neighbouring local BID recommended Mel Richardson as an advisor on the early stages of forming our own BID for the Digbeth area of Birmingham. Mel provided excellent advice and guidance and managed to communicate what looked like a very complicated process into simple steps.  Mel also produced a very thorough and detailed report into our BID’s viability, its boundary and what that meant financially.  This has allowed us to create a plan to move forward.

We would certainly recommend her services.”

Richard Wilcox, Falmouth BID Manager

“Mel supported us through the Falmouth BID third term renewal and her contribution was outstanding. Her expertise, particularly in relation to BID governance, legislation and procedure is second to none, allied with a huge degree of professionalism. My Board and I were also impressed by her diligence as well as a flexible approach, which enabled us to plan a very effective and thorough renewal campaign.

As a result of the effort, we achieved our best ever result and a strong mandate to continue investing in the town. Recommended without reservation.”

Mel is pleased to be working with Carl Lamb and the Board of St Ives BID on exploring the appetite of businesses in the town for a second term BID. Businesses in St Ives will have the opportunity to give their views on a BID 2 in September 2018 ahead of a March/April 2019 ballot. For more information on St Ives BID go to:

Martin Mullaney, Kings Heath BID town centre manager

‘Kings Heath BID used Mel Richardson Consultancy for its reballot in January 2018. With Mel’s guidance, we had our most successful result ever.

Mel worked above and beyond what the original contract requested. As well as guiding us through our reballot, she assisted us in reviewing our governance structures, which included her rewriting our Articles of Association. Even with the ballot over, Mel is still giving us guidance, with issues such as our Operating Agreement with the council.

I would strongly recommend using Mel Richardson Consultancy in any BID related matter.’

John Kneller, Chair of St Austell BID

‘St Austell BID was successfully renewed in December 2017, we worked with Mel throughout the process and she provided first class support with both technical advice and marketing knowledge. Mel also has a great network and relationships with key decision makers and influencers which added value to our local efforts. Totally professional, integrates into a team and delivers – can’t recommend highly enough.’
